Volunteers are vital to the successful operation and future of our school. Offering time to assist in the many projects that make our school great provides opportunities to forge new friendships and sets an important example and precedent for our children.

Families are asked to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per school year.

Lunch is 11:20-1:20.

   The lunch period is from 11:15am-12:40pm

• Volunteers should have all clearances required for AGS
• Volunteers should arrive 11:05 am, check in at the main office then proceed to the cafeteria
• Volunteers should dress for the weather and expect to take children outside

• CELL PHONES are NOT PERMITTED while supervising students; Attention should be on the children
• Volunteers will supervise ALL children inside and outside
• Younger students will require assistance with seating and opening various lunch items
• Volunteers may be needed to clean tables and wipe up spills; on occasion, volunteers may be needed to help serve food
• Students will remain seated while eating and clean up their area with trash placed in trash bins
• Students are REQUIRED to ask permission to use the restroom or for any other reason to leave the cafeteria
• Students who eat lunch first will wait to be dismissed before going to Recess
• ALL FOOD is to be eaten in the cafeteria

• Volunteers will supervise all children throughout the playground area
• Students should be dressed for the weather
• Grades 1-8 may bring their own playground/recess toys if they’d like (i.e. footballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, dolls, etc.)
• There will be designated areas for the children to play
• Students are NOT PERMITTED outside of the cones, past the gates, or up by the Business Office
• ABSOLUTELY NO FIGHTING, NO SWEARING & NO BULLYING-See Mrs. Boburka for any discipline
• When the last bell rings to end Lunch & Recess, outside students will collect any playground toys that are out on the parking lot

• Students who have Recess first will remain in their classroom or go to the gym and volunteers will supervise at those locations
• IF NO VOLUNTEERS ARE AVAILABLE, STUDENTS WILL HAVE RECESS IN THE CAFETERIA
• After 15 minutes of INDOOR RECESS, students will be escorted by volunteers to the cafeteria where they will have lunch; Indoor recess toys will remain in the classroom
• Students who eat Lunch first will proceed to the cafeteria as usual, then after 20-25 minutes, will be escorted to their classrooms or the gym for their recess
