At Archangel Gabriel Catholic School, we feel strongly about the long-lasting value of a Catholic Education. We want to encourage any family that would like their child to get the quality of education and community that Archangel Gabriel Catholic School can provide, to please take a moment to review the following Tuition Assistance Programs that may be available to you that might lessen the financial burden associated with attending a non-public school.
Archangel Gabriel Carholic School does not give out aid directly. All aid given out is done so through the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Aid received through the Diocese is generally through the FACTS Grant & Aid program, Bishop’s Education Fund (BEF), and Tax Credit (EITC & OSTC) funds. Any money received on behalf of a student will be applied to the family’s account equally throughout the remainder of the school year.
No monetary aid is guaranteed.
2023-2024 Tuition Aid Applications are Now Available

The application process through FACTS Management is available at https://diopitt.org/affordable
The following aid funds will be available to families depending upon their eligibility:
The 2023-24 Pastor Signature Sheet is required for a Bishop’s Education Fund grant. This form must be completed every year. Once families secure their pastor’s signature, the form instructs them to present it to their principal. If families have children at different Catholic schools, the form instructs them to provide a copy of the signed form to each principal (since principals can only view students at their school but not siblings at another). For auditing purposes, please retain signed forms or other documentation for two years.
The Bishop's Education Fund, which was founded over a decade ago and which has awarded millions of dollars in grants to Catholic school students in our Diocese, is awarded on the basis of financial need.
To be eligible, applicants must (1) be practicing Catholics registered in a parish in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, (2) attend one of the diocesan, parish, or regional schools, and (3) have demonstrated financial need. In general, grants from the Bishop’s Education Fund grants go to those families with the most need.
The Scholastic Opportunity Scholarship (S.O.S.) Tuition Assistance Program was developed when the Pennsylvania legislature established Act 4 in May of 2001. This law established the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) to be administered by the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). Act 4 authorized the award of tax credits to businesses that make contributions to certain scholarship organizations.
As a result of the EITC program, the Diocese of Pittsburgh formed the Scholastic Opportunity Scholarship (S.O.S.) Program to receive and distribute tax credit gifts. The funds available through the S.O.S. Programs are awarded to families based solely on economic eligibility requirements. Students who are PA residents enrolled in any Catholic school in the Diocese of Pittsburgh are eligible. Applicants can be Catholic or non- Catholic. The funds are sent in the student’s name to the school where the child is enrolled.
This program of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania began in the 2013-14 school year. Only families with students residing within the attendance boundaries of low-achieving schools, as determined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, are eligible. Instructions are contained in the application and grants will depend upon the number of donations received. Students who are PA residents enrolled in any Catholic school in the Diocese of Pittsburgh are eligible as long as they live within the boundaries of a low-achieving school district. Applicants can be Catholic or non-Catholic. The funds are sent in the student’s name to the school where the child is enrolled.
